Chambers Ireland want Govt to maintain low VAT for hospitality sector

Chambers Ireland are calling on the Government to implement measures in Budget 2015 to help all businesses around the country.

The body has reported patchy growth and recovery and says not all counties are experiencing the growth felt by Dublin and bigger cities.

They are also urging the Government to maintain the low VAT rate of 9% in the hospitality sector.

CEO of Chambers Ireland, Ian Talbot, says recovery has happened right across the country.

Mr Talbot said: "We'd love to be able to say the bad times are over, but our concern is that the recovery's quite patchy around the country.

"We're getting messages from our chambers around the country; they're saying it's good in a couple of areas, but in reality we've still some way to go before prosperity is really back with us.

"So we're asking the Government to focus on measures to strengthen businesses in all regions and all sectors," he added.
