Belfast mobile solutions company creates 20 jobs

Belfast-headquartered mobile solutions provider TotalMobile have announced 20 new jobs.

The company, which currently employs around 120, is recruiting 15 software developers and five roles in other business areas.

The new jobs will be based at its offices at Pilot Point on Clarendon Road.

The firm is looking for Android developers in particular to help it create innovative mobile working solutions for major health trusts, councils and private sector businesses.

The firm’s products allow workers like front-line NHS staff to use mobile devices such as tablet computers to access and update information like patient notes on the move, without the need for paper work or a return to a centralised work station.

TotalMobile is also today launching a careers drive in Northern Ireland to connect with emerging developers and to encourage young people to consider software development as a career choice.

Called #codeforbetter, the campaign will include two events at which young developers will have the opportunity to use their skills to create innovative health apps that will actually be used by the health service.

The first one on Monday, May 12, called Mind Hack, will be run as part of Action for Brain Injury Week.

Young coders will have a 12-hour period to create an app that will be used by health trusts in Northern Ireland.

TotalMobile Ltd was founded in 1985 and was formerly known as Consilium Technologies.
