Former ECB head will not be appearing before banking inquiry

The former head of the European Central Bank Jean-Claude Trichet has said that he will not be appearing before the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry.

Mr Trichet was the ECB president during Ireland's banking collapse, and was a strong opponent of burning Anglo bondholders.
