The CityJet airline is to start flights from Cambridge airport to Dublin and Amsterdam.

From May 12 the carrier will operate twice daily services on weekdays and daily at weekends to both destinations.

Dublin flights will cost ÂŁ98 return, with Amsterdam priced at ÂŁ147 return. Passengers will fly on 50-seater Fokker 50 aircraft.

Meanwhile, British Airways is about to start flights from Heathrow to the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini – two new destinations for the airline .

Operating 162-seater Airbus A320 planes on the routes, BA begins twice-weekly services to Mykonos from May 3, with twice-weekly flights starting to Santorini on the same day.

May also marks the start of an increase in frequency of BA flights to Austin in Texas and Chengdu in China. Flights rise from three to five a week to Chengdu and from five a week to a daily service to Austin, with BA’s new Boeing 787 Dreamliners flying to each destination.
