50 jobs at Freshways following management buyout

50 jobs are to be created by sandwich company Freshways, following a management buyout from Kerry Foods.

The production facility at Finglas in Dublin will continue to employ more than 170 staff following the deal while the new positions will come on stream in the areas of finance, sales and marketing and IT over the next 12 months.

The company produces 300,000 handmade sandwiches each week for customers across Ireland, as well as manufacturing sandwich filler for delis and convenience stores.

The company was founded by Kerry Foods in 1990, and is now Ireland's largest sandwich maker.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that Kerry Foods had acquired sandwich company Freshways Ireland. In fact, Freshways was acquired from Kerry Foods in a management buyout.
