“Cloud computing is a sector which we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs, and in recent years we have seen signficant progress in this area," the Minister said.
" I know how dynamic and innovative VCE is from our meetings on recent missions to the United States, and today’s announcement that they are making significant investments and creating 150 jobs is great news for Cork and for Ireland.
"I wish them every success and look forward to working with them on future projects.”
Recruiting for software engineers, developers, QA engineers and other R&D support roles is already underway, with VCE expecting to employ more than 250 people in Cork by 2015.
The investment, backed by IDA Ireland, is expected to sustain growth in Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific Japan regions.
VCE, which develops and provides IT infrastructure to streamline operations, established its Irish operations in Cork in 2011, the first centre outside the United States.
