DIT development will have 'enormous benefits', says Howlin
Public Expenditure Minister Brendan Howlin has said that the development of the Grangegorman campus for DIT will be a massive lift for the city.
Minister Howlin was speaking after he was given a tour of the site on the North Circular Road.
It is hoped construction will generate in the region of 2,000 construction jobs between now and 2017.
Brendan Howlin says it is a huge development for the city.
"I think it will have enormous benefits, well beyond the education and the health benefits that will be provided by the facilities on campus," he said.
"I think it will life this whole area of Dublin, and be one of the most important building developments this Government has undertaken in its term of office."
