Some 'don’t know whether bank is charging them fees': Survey
More than 30% of people could avoid paying bank charges if they shopped around, according to a consumer survey.
The survey for the National Consumer Agency shows that nearly 60% of account holders have not checked with another bank to see whether they can get a better deal on their current account.
One in seven of those questioned also said they did not know whether their bank was charging them fees for transactions.
Fergal O'Leary of the NCA, said consumers could easily compare account charges online, on a dedicated page of the National Consumer Agency site.
