Coveney visits Galway and Clare to see floods impact
Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney is to visit parts of Galway and Clare in the coming days to see the impact of the heavy rain and flooding on farmers and their livestock.
Minister Coveney issued a statement reassuring farmers that he and the department would do everything possible to assist them.
He reminded people that Teagasc has been given the job of making practical advice available to anyone facing problems.
Meanwhile, with more bad weather forecast for later today, the National Emergency Coordination Group is to brief the media on the situation across the country later this morning.
