Man dies in fall from JP Morgan bank's HQ

A man has died after falling from the European headquarters of JP Morgan bank in London’s Canary Wharf.

The man, who was 39, was pronounced dead at the scene at 25 Bank Street shortly after 8am, Scotland Yard said.

He was found on the roof of the ninth floor and police have confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious.

The building in London’s financial district has been the headquarters of the bank’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operation since July 2012, according to the company’s website.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 8.04am to Bank Street to reports of a person fallen from a height.

“We sent one ambulance crew, a duty officer, our hazardous area response team and London Air Ambulance to the scene.

“Sadly, a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.”

JP Morgan declined to comment on whether the dead man was an employee.

A company spokeswoman said: “We are reviewing a very sad incident at 25 Bank Street this morning.”
