Manufacturers claim e-cigarettes can assist smokers kick the habit of smoking tobacco cigarettes, but the Department of Health counters that they still contain highly-addictive nicotine.

Minister Reilly is reviewing the evidence on the potential harm and benefits of e-cigarettes, before deciding the best approach to wider regulation.
