Primark has announced what it calls 'excellent' Christmas trading figures.

Sales across Europe at the budget clothing store, which trades as Penneys in Ireland, rose 14% in the 16 weeks to January 4.

Meanwhile Marks and Spencer has seen its festive sales fall by around 2%.
