RSA Insurance has fired two senior executives after a review of financial irregularities that has cost the company €240m.

RSA Insurance has fired two senior executives after a review of financial irregularities that has cost the company €240m.

Chief Financial Officer Rory O’Connor and Claims Director Peter Burke were dismissed for their roles in relation to irregularities.

RSA's Chief Executive in Ireland Philip Smith was suspended last year in relation to the issue.

He has since resigned, claiming he had been made "the fall guy" for the financial scandal.
