Number of trips to Ireland up 7.3%

New figures have revealed a 7.3% increase in the number of trips to Ireland travelling to Ireland from January to October this year.

The CSO publication shows 6.05 million overseas trips in the first 10 months of the year, in comparison to 5.63 million 2012.

Trips by those from North America jumped by 14.6%, while tourists travelling from the UK increased by 5.1%.

Minister of State for Tourism & Sport Michael Ring is welcomed the news.
