Over 1,600 mortgages were approved by Irish banks in September - that is 10% more compared to the same month last year.

Over 1,600 mortgages were approved by Irish banks in September - that is 10% more compared to the same month last year.

The Irish Banking Federation's Mortgage Approvals Report shows that of these, 92% were for house purchases.
