Government set to fast-track VAT incentive for construction industry

The new VAT incentive on construction is likely to be given immediate effect, rather than start in the new year.

The Government is believed to have moved the starting date, amid fears that many planned works for 2013 would be delayed.

Under the scheme - announced in the Budget - those paying for smaller construction jobs would be able to apply for a rebate of the 13.5% VAT.
