Bank chiefs to face Oireachtas Finance Committee grilling

Chief executives from Bank of Ireland and Ulster Bank will be the latest to face the Oireachtas Finance Committee today.

Yesterday, AIB's David Duffy took questions on what his bank has done to help mortgage holders in arrears - and it's expected that similar questions will be asked at today's sessions.

Bank of Ireland's Richie Boucher will appear before the committee at 10am this morning, while Ulster Bank's Jim Brown will meet members at 2pm this afternoon.

Sinn Féin's Finance Spokesperson Pearse Doherty says the whole process is moving too slowly.

"Bank of Ireland's before the Committee today - they haven't given us the figures on the quarter that's required, so it will be interesting to see if they've met the targets."
