Glanbia profits increase by a fifth

The food group Glanbia has today reported a rise in profits.

The Kilkenny-based company said it made a profit of €82m in the first six months of this year, which is an increase of 20% on last year.

The company said its revenues rose by nearly 14%t to €1.2bn.

Glanbia Managing Director, John Moloney said the sports nutrition business is performing particularly well in the United States.
