Barclays’ first quarter profits have slumped by a quarter as the cost of its overhaul weighs on the bank.

Adjusted pre-tax profits at Barclays fell 25% to £1.8bn (€2bn) in the first three months of the year, after £514m (€602m) of costs for its “Transform” turnaround plan.
