NI firms lose thousands in phone scam

Police are hunting criminals who racked up bills of more than £10,000 (€11,700) by hacking the phones of Northern Ireland businesses, it was disclosed today.

The scammers were able to break into telephone lines from a remote location and make thousands of international and premium rate calls, it was claimed.
