Pharmaceutical company Sanofi is to make a €44m investment at the Genzyme plant in Waterford.

The company is adding an insulin product to the biotechnology campus.

Sanofi acquired Genzyme two years ago and curently employs 500 people in Waterford.

IDA Ireland and the Department of Jobs supported the investment which they say secures the future of employees at the plant.
