Retail group expects rise in sales next year

Retail Ireland has said, despite tough trading conditions, Irish retailers believe 2013 may see an upturn in sales.

The group, which represents the retail sector, has said its members are reporting increased sales in the run-up to Christmas and a year-on-year rise in post-Christmas sales.

Some reported up to a 10% rise in sales on St Stephens Day compared to the same day last year.
