The Dublin Airport Authority is flying is to introduce electric vans at Dublin and Cork airports.

The company said the move was part of its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint.

The nine vehicles will result in CO2 savings of more than 200,000kgs, equivalent to planting more than 6,000 trees.

The move makes the group one of the largest electric fleet operators in the country.
