Cork Chamber: Health Hub launch 'a welcome boost'
Cork Chamber chief executive Conor Healy today welcomed the launch of the Health Innovation Hub Demonstrator Project located in UCC by the Minister of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton and Minister for Health James Reilly.
"Cork has high levels of investment in the life sciences and ICT sectors," said Mr Healy.
"The decision to locate the Hub in Cork is positive and a welcome boost to the region.
"Allowing health care companies to effectively deliver products and services by facilitating access to the health care services to test and refine products shows continued confidence in Cork to produce high level products in pharmaceuticals, medical devices and software.”
“Cork Chamber welcomes the link that this Hub will create between industry, third level institutes and the health sector.
“The global healthcare market requires ongoing innovation in products and services.
“This Hub will allow joined-up action which will place indigenous companies in the best position to develop new products/services which can be exported globally, allowing for job creation in the Cork region while creating efficiencies in the Health Service Executive.”
