In the UK struggling retailer JJB Sports has found a buyer - its rival Sports Direct.

It is believed a deal has almost been reached for the sale of 60 stores.

Mike Ashley, who also owns Newcastle United, is believed to be willing to pay ÂŁ30m.

The agreement would safeguard 1,500, a third of the JJB Sports workforce.
