Independent News & Media (Ireland) has appointed Stephen Rae (46) as its new editor. He replaces Gerry O’Regan (62) who has decided to retire after seven years in the editor's chair.

Independent News & Media (Ireland) has appointed Stephen Rae (46) as its new editor. He replaces Gerry O’Regan (62) who has decided to retire after seven years in the editor's chair.

Mr O’Regan will write a weekly column and contribute other articles to the paper.
