Finance Minister pleased with successful day on the markets
Ireland has had another successful day on the markets - this is one step closer to making a full return to the bond markets next year.
Earlier, the National Treasury Management Agency sold more then €1 billion worth of Irish Amortising Bonds to the markets.
The Finance Minister has said that he is pleased with today's result which, "represents another important step on our return to market funding."
Director of Funding and Debt Management at the NTMA Oliver Whealan said that most of the bonds are believed to have been bought by domestic investors.
"Mainly we believe they were domestic investors, because this product Amortising bonds was designed with the pension funds in mind, in fact it was on foot of request from the pensions industry that we designed these bonds"
