Lonmin shares fall amid miner crisis

Shares in platinum miner Lonmin fell a further 5% today as wildcat strikers at its Marikana mine in South Africa faced an ultimatum to return to work or face dismissal.

The London-listed mining giant issued the demand last week but extended the deadline following violent clashes between strikers and police, which claimed the lives of 34 people.
