Aviva welcomes EC call for abolition of VHI guarantee

Aviva Healthcare has this evening welcomed the European Commission's demand that Ireland abolish the unlimited state guarantee currently enjoyed by the VHI.

Aviva warned that customers should not be hit with an increased health insurance levy to meet the VHI’s funding deficit.

Aviva called on the Government to clarify how it plans to deal with the VHI's solvency requirements.
