Entwistle named as new BBC chief

George Entwistle is to become the new Director General of the BBC.

The BBC Trust says Mr Entwistle, who is currently the Director of BBC Vision, is "a creative leader for a creative organisation."

He will be on a salary of £450,000 (€560,000) per year and takes over from Mark Thompson who announced his intention to leave the BBC in March.
