BOI announces appointment of new governor
Bank of Ireland has announced the appointment of Archie Kane as Governor Designate with immediate effect.
Mr Kane will succeed Pat Molloy as Governor from June 29.
The 60-year-old was previously Group Executive Director at Lloyds Banking Group, and also held a number of senior positions at Lloyds and TSB Bank.
He has also been co-opted to the board of Bank of Ireland as a non-executive director, the bank said.
"We are delighted to welcome Archie Kane to the Board of Bank of Ireland," said outgoing governor Mr Molloy.
"His distinguished track record in financial services internationally brings significant experience to the Board which will be a major asset to the Group."
The bank also announced the appointment, with immediate effect, of Prem Watsa and Wilbur Ross to the Board as non-executive directors.
