More than 300 of Ireland’s internet community will gather in Dublin this Friday for the dot conf a conference which seeks to support the growth and development of the web industry in Ireland.

More than 300 of Ireland’s internet community will gather in Dublin this Friday for the dot conf, a conference which seeks to support the growth and development of the web industry in Ireland.

Hosted by the National College of Ireland, the event showcases Ireland’s homegrown talent in the web and cloud computing sectors, as well as inviting relevant international speakers.

The keynote speaker this year is Bill Liao, co-founder of the CoderDojo movement to assist young people to learn how to programme.

Bill is also a diplomat, investor, entrepreneur, business mentor, speaker, philanthropist and author, who co-founded the business social network service XING and is a venture partner at SOS Ventures - a global venture capital firm and investment management firm.

Other speakers include Monty Munford, founder of content strategy agency Mob76, Eamonn Carey, EMEA Director of Kiip, Randall Snare, Head of Content Strategy and lead UX designer at iQ Content, Dena Walker, Digital Strategist with Irish International and Mark Congiusta, Senior User Experience Manager at Cisco Systems

Technology journalist Karlin Lillingford will act as MC.

The event includes a panel discussion where industry experts will debate the hurdles facing tech start-ups in 2012.

The dot conf will also be live streamed on the event website.
