Ardagh Group buys US firm
Ardagh Group has bought the US-based Leone Industries from the Leone family.
The acquisition of Leone Industries will increase the size of Ardagh’s glass division by approximately 10%.
Leone Industries was founded in 1966 and is a technologically advanced manufacturer of glass containers serving the US food and beverage markets.
It produces more than 500 million containers per annum from its facility in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
Niall Wall, Ardagh Group CEO, said: "We are very pleased to have completed the acquisition of Leone Industries which will assist us to expand our US activities into the glass container market. It is an important step in developing our international glass franchise and will add scale and value to our business."
The Luxembourg-based Ardagh Group is a manufacturer of metal and glass packaging.
It operates 91 manufacturing plants in 25 countries, employs approximately 15,000 people and its customers include, Heineken, Coca Cola, ABInbev, Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Bacardi Martini, Heinz, Nestlé, Danone, Unilever, Procter and Gamble and L'Oréal.
