Total Produce cleared to buy Dutch fresh produce firm

Total Produce has announced that it has received regulatory clearance to buy 50% of fresh produce company Frankort & Koning Beheer Venlo BV.

The Irish food company is expected to complete its investment in due course.

The company had announced that it had entered an agreement to acquire the Dutch firm and subsidiaries for up to €15m on December 20, 2011.

Headquartered in Venlo, the Netherlands, Frankort & Koning has operations principally in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland.
