The Digital Skills Academy has announced a second WebElevate programme to train up to 140 job seekers for the digital sector.

The Digital Skills Academy has announced a second WebElevate programme to train up to 140 job seekers for the digital sector.

The programme will be offered by the academy through the Higher Education Authority's Springboard initiative and will offer direct employment opportunities with industry partners.

Up to 20 companies - including Telefonica Ireland, BT Ireland, Pigsback.com, Digiweb, Oracle Ireland and Gill & Macmillan - have partnered the programme.

The progamme is free to participants as part of the Higher Education Authority's Springboard initiative, which encourages people with workplace experience who need additional skills to take up a job in sectors where vacancies are arising.

WebElevate is an honours-degree level programme delivered by Digital Skills Academy at the Digital Hub, with Dublin Institute of Technology as the awarding body.

The new WebElevate programme will begin in April 2012 with 140 places on offer by applying through www.webelevate.ie by March 19, 2012.
