World Bank president to step down

The president of the World Bank is to step down later this year.

Robert Zoellick will leave his post on June 30, when his five-year term ends.

He said in a statement that he had informed the bank's board of member countries of his decision at a meeting earlier today.

No mention has been made yet of any potential successor.
