Online marketing company Cleverbug.com said it aims to create 50 new jobs in Dublin, it was announced today.

The company, which designs and prints business cards and promotional materials for small businesses, has secured $2.5m (€2m) in funding and is due to begin trading in February next.

The majority of the jobs will be in technology and product development, sales and marketing, customer care, market research, operations and finance.

"If brands such as Google, LinkedIn and Facebook believe in Irish talent then it's time we plucked up our confidence again in Ireland to take centre stage in a global market that is booming" said company founder and CEO Kealan Lennon.

"Our plan is to create 50 new jobs, as we further develop technology with world class Irish talent" said Mr Lennon.

The funding announcement has been welcomed by Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
