The Business and Finance Awards have taken place in Dublin last night.

Around 800 Irish business leaders attend the event in the Convention Centre.

Aidan Heavey, CEO of Tullow Oil, won businessman of the year.

Paddy Cosgrave, founder of the Dublin Web Summit , won the award for First Young Leader.

Arthur Ryan, the founder and chairman of Penneys/Primark, won the Outstanding Achievement award.

The event, which aims at recognising and rewarding success in business, is the longest-running and most coveted business awards programme in Ireland.

The programme was expanded to the United States with the Business & Finance US Awards to reflect the strong and unique bond between Irish and American businesses.
