Today FM chief to join RTÉ

Today FM Chief Executive Willie O'Reilly is to join RTÉ, it was announced today.

RTÉ said Mr O'Reilly would take up the newly-created post of Group Commercial Director.

A broadcast veteran and former executive producer of the Gerry Ryan show, Mr O'Reilly has been CEO of Today FM since 1999, in which time he has overseen changes of ownership from private individuals to Scottish Radio Holdings to Emap PLC and now Denis O'Brien's Communicorp Ltd.

"I'm delighted to welcome Willie to RTÉ," said RTÉ Director General Noel Curran.

"Willie has a strong track record of leadership, innovation, and success in building commercial performance in a media company."
