The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 30.38 poitns to 2,629.56, a rise of 1.17%.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 30.38 points to 2,629.56, a rise of 1.17%.

Among the risers, Elan Corp. added 41c to €7.96; Smurfit Kappa was up 15c to €4.35; FBD climbed 15c to €6.45; Tullow Oil was up 44c to €16.35 and Irish Continental gained 15c to €14.85.
