Downturn 'not affecting productivity'

A new survey shows that the economic climate is only marginally affecting productivity at work.

According to the study of 600 Irish professionals carried out by recruitment consultancy Robert Walters, 54% of employees said their productivity has not changed.

Some 28% of respondents said they were now more productive in work, and 18% of those surveyed reported less productivity.

The same survey conducted in 2010 showed similar results, with 28% of respondents indicating that they were more productive than the previous year, and 51% reporting no change.

However the number of Irish professionals who were feeling less productive dropped three points to 18% in 2011, compared to the previous year.
