Survey points to positive hiring sentiment in many firms

A new survey is showing renewed energy in the jobs sector.

Peninsula Ireland tracked 1,000 companies and found that 74% of them planned on hiring in the next year.

In addition, 20% fewer companies planned on making people redundant this year compared to 2010.

Many companies, especially in retail and hospitality, said they would be hiring temporary staff in the run-up to Christmas.
