Cyprus budget aims to slash deficit
Cyprus’s draft budget for next year includes some €840m in spending cuts and tax increases in a bid to slash the island’s fiscal deficit to 2.3%, its finance minister said today.
Cyprus has endured consecutive credit rating downgrades in recent months, mainly due to the large banking sector’s exposure to debt-laden Greece.
