Just 56% of professionals working in Ireland took their full holiday entitlements last year, according to a new survey.

The global survey carried out by recruitment consultancy firm Robert Walters also shows that 6% of workers in Ireland took only a quarter of their hoiday days.

Ireland had the highest percentage of respondents who used up their full holiday allocation,

followed by New Zealand with 55%.

Countries where professionals took none of their holiday entitlement at all in 2010 included

China, Switzerland and the United States.
