A jump for Wall Street stocks amid hopes of action to tackle the eurozone debt crisis helped the London market end a run of volatile trading today.

The FTSE 100 Index has fluctuated in recent sessions but finally got into its stride after the Dow Jones Industrial Average leapt 2.5% on Monday night and Asian markets followed suit with a gain of 3% for Japan’s Nikkei index.
