Survey: Rise in weekly spend on Irish goods 'would create 6,000 jobs'
It has been claimed today that if households spend just €4 more a week on 'Guaranteed Irish' products, it would result in the creation of more than 6,000 new jobs a year.
A survey released by Amarach research this morning shows the average spend per household on such products is just under €16 a week.
Up to 83% of consumers believe it is more important to buy Irish than it was five years ago, while 63% say it helps them feel they are supporting Ireland in some way.
