The US government is going to sue about 12 big banks for misrepresenting the quality of mortgage securities, according to a report in the New York Times.

The US government is going to sue about 12 big banks for misrepresenting the quality of mortgage securities, according to a report in the New York Times.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency, which oversees mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, is expected to file suit against more than a dozen banks.
