Virgin Money 'interested' in MBNA's credit card operation

It has been reported today that Virgin Money has expressed an interest in MBNA's credit card business in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Parent company Bank of America announced last week that it is exiting the credit card sector in the UK and Ireland.

It has raised concerns for the future of 750 jobs in the County Leitrim town.

According to reports, a spokesperson for Richard Branson's company said they would be "involved in the process going forward".
