ISEQ in positive territory
The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed up 71.20 points or 2.91% to 2,520.44 this evening.
The market followed the Europe-wide positive trend as markets gained ground on foot of positive US retail sales figures, clawing back some of the week's hefty losses.
Among the risers, Smurfit Kappa added 38c or 7.57% to €5.40, Tullow Oil was up 62c to €12.03 and Glanbia gain 20c to €4.00.
Also climbing were Elan Corp, up 31c to €7.31; Aryzta, adding €1.18 to €32.50; Kerry Group, up 82c to €26.04; CRH, climbing 35c to €12.10 and Paddy Power, up 52c to €31.36.
On the fallers' board, Irish Continental shed 25c to €14.75 and Kingspan was down 9c to €6.31.
