Cabinet agrees to proceed with JLC legislation
The Cabinet has agreed to proceed to draft legislation to resolve the issues around wage agreements.
It follows the High Court striking down the laws protecting workers in the catering sector, and a demand by the IMF for reform of the JLCs and other agreements.
Ministers today signed off on the proposals that will underpin the legislation.
The details - such as whether Sunday and other premium payments will remain - are not being revealed until an announcement by Minister Richard Bruton in the coming days.
